Xeen remembered those days, before all this.
Before the power started going. Before the food began running out. Before before.
A time when he would run in the street with his friends, scales glinting in the suns double glare. When he would be accepted into the world. When he was part of the community.
He would shut his old, tired eyes and try to imagine that world again, if not for a moment. He would give anything to go back to those peaceful days. Anything.
