100 Words – Holiday

[100 Words is a story in 100 words or less, based off the word in the title.]

“I could have this weather for ever,” Larissa said as she arched her back on the sun bed. It was 25 degrees even in the early morning, the waves were lapping gently at the beach. Next to her, Greg, her fiancé, made a face.

“You’d soon get bored of it,” he replied.

“Nope,” Larissa said, reaching for the suncream, “I don’t think I would. It’s warm, we have a gorgeous view, and most of all we are on holiday.”

“That’s why you couldn’t have it for ever,” Greg remarked, pulling out his book and ensuring his red hair was tucked safely within the safety of the umbrella’s shade, “it wouldn’t be a holiday then.”

Larissa just poked her tongue out at Greg.
