Doubt – What is doubt? (Genre – General, Rating – PG)
It’s such a simple word, but it creeps around the corners of your mind, eating away at the truth that you know about. It saws away at the certainty you know, and asks you if you really, really know what you’re doing.
Of course you know what you’re doing. After all, there is a first time for everything and you have to experience the uncertainty when you do something you haven’t done before. But still, it feels like you’re standing on the edge of a cliff and staring off it before you jump. Do you jump, do you try? After all, things might not work out the way you hope, the doubt might be right after all. It might just be a ruse, a façade that is pulled over your eyes as you continue to tumble into the unknown.
Have you done the right thing? Will you do the right thing?
Nobody knows if they’re doing the right thing. People will try and give advice on what you should do, where you should go, but after all it is your life to decide how to use as you wish. It is for no one else to decide how you live it, who you live it with, or what you do. As you grow older, you realise there are no rules, that nobody has any clue what is going on. Everyone likes to think they know what is going on, it’s their way of coping with how stuff happens.
But truly? There are not rules, not limits, no boundaries. There is just your life, your road and how you want it mapped out in front of you.
And that idea is priceless.
